Waste Assets Management Corporation

Waste Assets Management Corporation (WAMC) is an agency of the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI). The functions of WAMC have been consolidated with the Environment Services Group (ESG) within Property NSW, the Government's property and place making specialists.

WAMC focuses on reducing the environmental impacts of operational and closed landfills through initiatives such as the efficient collection of landfill gas with the potential for generating both renewable energy and green credits. WAMC facilities currently generate more than 100,000 megawatt hours per annum of renewable electricity whilst significantly reducing climate impacting methane gas emissions.

WAMC concentrates a highly specialised team of landfill management, monitoring and remediation experts with extensive operational, engineering, environmental and planning expertise to provide operational management of Sydney's largest landfill, Eastern Creek Waste Management Centre, rehabilitation and management of closed landfills, and other specialised environmental, contamination and project management services.
