Public participation in policy development

These processes differ depending on the issue at hand.  However, they will generally include the opportunity to comment formally on a discussion paper or draft Bill.  Information regarding current reviews can be found on the DFSI website via the relevant related entity (see comments below).

DFSI also monitors Ministerial correspondence and customer feedback to identify policy issues that may need review.

Proposed amendments to Fair Trading legislation are announced in the What's New and the Have Your Say sections on Fair Trading's Internet home page. Everyone can access discussion papers and see how to provide comment on proposals on the Comment on proposed legislation page.

Members of the public can also keep up to date by subscribing to Fair Trading’s eNews services which include reference to legislative proposals.
