Soundwave cancellation ticket refunds
NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe today advised consumers affected by the cancellation of the Soundwave 2016 to seek a refund from ticket selling agency, Eventopia.
“Fair Trading recently held discussions with the ticketing agency, Eventopia, seeking assurances that consumers will receive refunds as quickly as possible,” Mr Stowe said.
“We have been advised that Eventopia are committed to ensuring all those who have purchased tickets are refunded as required by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
“Eventopia advised Fair Trading that disappointed customers have been contacted via email and have been invited to apply for a refund of their Soundwave 2016 ticket or Soundwave Membership by 31 January 2016.
“The fastest way for fans to receive their refund is to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Ticket buyers should include their order details, including the name and email address that the tickets were purchased with.
“Refunds will be returned to the original credit card used to purchase the tickets. Customers should expect to receive their refund within a reasonable time after submitting their request.”
Mr Stowe said Fair Trading continues to monitor the situation and he encouraged any consumers experiencing difficulties obtaining a refund to call Fair Trading on 13 32 20.
