Social Housing Benefit From Sale of Four Millers Point Terraces

A total of $12.243m from the sale of four Millers Point terraces will fund new social housing dwellings across New South Wales.

A further four properties were sold yesterday by Property NSW, on behalf of Family and Community Services. They include:

  •         82 Kent Street (four bedrooms) - sold for $2.48m
  •         48 Kent Street (two bedrooms) - sold for $1.538m
  •        7 Lower Fort Street (six bedrooms) - sold for $4.7m
  •        30 Merriman Street (three bedrooms) - sold for $3.525m

     All properties sold in Millers Point are accompanied bystrict heritage protections; including NSW Heritage Council-endorsed Conservation Management Plans.

A total of 94 Millers Point properties have been sold to date, delivering around $264m for social housing.  

Proceeds from the sale of Millers Point properties will fund 1,500 new social housing dwellings across the State, with over 600 new fit-for-purpose social housing dwellings funded to date.

From later this month, the Millers Point sale program will offer a new product mix, including a diverse range of lofts and other apartments, and blocks of units.
